I was just struck by how much McCain has been out talking about coal lately. Every time I catch one of his rallies he manages to woo the coal vote. Yesterday, where ever he was, he said something about standing on top of the largest coal deposit in the world. Is this coal stuff a way to break our dependence on foreign oil?
It's just that, well...coal? Nothing says visionary like...coal, does it? What's next? Railroads? Manifest destiny?
